Well, work was so/so today, had one wedding reception and it was for a worker in the restaurant. The thing was that they were getting married to a second cousin. I heard the stories many times on how we are related, but it is a little foggy right now because after I clocked out I joined in for a while. I surprised a bartender by ordering a drink and then proceeding to join in as much as I usually do for any thing I go to. I make sure to keep the wall from following over. ;)

All I can say is that I knew my cousin wouldn't really recognize me as much as his partners would. And I think I scared the former co-worker too. But I limited myself to only 2 drinks because I don't believe in making my completely and utterly stupid when I go drinking.

Another day another dollar.

Well, the doctor said that the dog is okay, but it will need a couple of days to get everything straight it his head. Just to let him wander and do stuff on his own accord, and in 3 to 4 days he should be back to normal. So I am happy and so is the rest of the family.

I would like to start out that I really try not to get into a discussion that could lead to arguments or such. Usually because I could say something one day, and the next day they ask me about that conversation, and I look at them like they were trying to speak in Arabic or something to me.

The reason I start out like this is because I would like to apologize to someone about trying to talk about bands, and confused them for someone else. But that embarrassment I had did last long. Mainly because I showed a link from eBay to a bass guitar that I knew was an expensive as hell bass, but it was at $46 and had no reserve. We both were thinking that once it finally got noticed it would end up at the amount of $800 or more. The thing is that it went to about $300 for a guitar that was $1000+. If the seller wasn't crying about the price, I would be very much surprised.

But we got onto the topic of bass guitars, because I am thinking about getting one. The only problem is that I can't get one right now because I have a car payment, insurance, and less than the finale price of the guitar to my name.  buy the good thing is that my car payment was taken out of my savings account from my bank for this month. Now I just need to start saving money....BIG TIME!

Before I mention something that happened today I would like to explain some stuff so that it can be understood a little more...Maybe. My family has a dog, part terrier part poleramian(spelling). And is name carmel because his hair when it is cut short looked almost carmel corn colored, and stands up to about half way up to my hip when on his hind legs only, and on all fours is barely up to my knee. (I am 6' 3", so he is a small dog.)  Well, he is 17 years old(he was born 17 years ago either around this date.) The dog has had problems with having seizures (except has had a bad in quite a while) , and at a young age was bite by a bigger Chow dog and lost sight in one eye. And since then the sight in his other eye has gotten worse over the years, but was told that he would never go completely blind. He for the most part made himself deaf by barking a lot. Carmel has lost most of his teeth also. And during the last winter he walked are the neighbor hood with about half of foot to a foot of snow on the ground, and being very cold for about 4 to 6 hours because of he got disoriented due to snow not being there when he last went out and couldn't tell where he was, and he did the samething but was found in half an hour walking towards a Goodwill.

So yeah, Carmel has earned his stripes in life tenfold.

But something happened today that I wasn't ever expecting to happen...well was hoping that it would not happen. The rest of the family went on vacation to Pipestone and between My older brother and me, we had to make sure the family dog got fed, and let outside. Last night the dog was fine, but this morning I let him out at 6:45AM and didn't notice anything wrong, then I wake up at 8:00AM and was going send him out, but he didn't want to go so I let him sleep and went back to bed.

I woke up about 9:40 and heard the dogs tags rattling so I thought he was walking around hoping to find someone to let him out. I checked the hallway to the door, but didn't see anything. I check the parents bed room and he was having a seizure. So I picked him up and took him outside and laid him down. After about 10 minutes he was trying to get his balance and stand up. The problem was that he was walking in circles, but not really getting anywhere, and he seemed to a degree disoriented. He could not recognize me, the house, and walked right into his water dish. I had him outside for about 2 hours.

My grandmother came over because she knows a little more about human and animal's health than I do. She was wondering his he finally lost the sight in his other eye, and was disoriented and wouldn't lay down or eat. So I blocked off the stairway to the basement with a dining table chair and then just watched him walk around confused and lost, and tried to keep him from running into anything, or knocking anything over. Well, at 12:30 my parents and little sister got home, and I had to leave in about an hour for some training at work. I left to go to work as they were watching the dog, and came back to him walking around again. The only difference is that he could actually see me unlike before where he would for the most part pace back and forth because of the fact he could see, or idlest see much.

So I am glad that he is okay, but it freshet me out, and infact made me think that even though I am human, one day I will probably be in the same predicament.

Edit: About 15 minutes ago, everyone went to bed, and then the dog started whimpering and whining again. He couldn't get up, and trapped himself underneath a cabinent. We freed him, and he kept whining and whimpering. He finally somewhat got to his feet, but didn't have the balance and coordination. He wasn't breathing too well, and I followed him up and down the hallway.  This what it started out with earlier, but instead my parents weren't home.

This time they were, and my mom called the doctors' office and left a message. I am guessing they have an auto message transfering service for about 5 to 10 minutes later the phone rang. The doctor answered and my mom told him about what was happening. The doctor can't do anything until morning, but he thinks Carmel suffered a stroke earlier, and I am guessing still thinks Carmel is having side affects still. But the dog can't be left by himself because he is blinded disoriented, and just walks in circles crashing into stuff. So my mom is going to stay up. I know it is because of old age, but why must my dog suffer like this...

Well, it has been interesting to say the least. I went into work on Wednesday and find out that we only had enough to do for 2 hours of work(well for me anyway, manager writes me in at 4PM everyday during the week.) And the others had 3 hours, and yet they were complaining. Personally, I say be glad they have some hours.

Today, I had around 3 and a half hours of work, but the fun part was that the garbage wasn't emptied on Sunday....and on Thursday, me and a returning idiot who quit before because they didn't want to show up, emptied the garbage cans. The ones with food in them....ALSO HAD MAGGOTS!...lovely...I can't believe how some people don't have the brain power to think. "Hey, this garbage has old food in it, maybe we should throw it away." So yeah, I was almost ready to gag, and I don't know if the garbage can got placed back into the building or not, but I didn't mess with it after it was emptied.

But as mentioned before another worker who quit because they wouldn't be able to show up for work is not back. I wonder how long they will last this time. It was about 9 months last time, I am not a betting man on this person being there long.

But I got some new CD's on Tuesday and Wednesday:

Static-X - The Shadow Zone
Static-X - Beneath...Between...Beyond
Lacuana Coil - Comalies
Sublime - Sublime
Joe Satriani - Is there love in Space?

And I will say right now Joe Satriani ROCKS! Now if I were to just talk to one Mr. Muggs sometime about what Hatebreed Album to start out with to listen too.

Edit: Also, the picture in my profile...isn't me. It is the samples/media person for slipknot 133. I'm just put it in there because this guy has balls for having his mask look like that.

I have one thing to say.  Whichever doctor it was who cmae up with the "double red cell" concept and made the machine should be stripped down to their underwear and place in say...North Pole, or Antartica! Having the plasma sent back into your  body after it has been cooled is the only thing that can make me that cold. DAMN!

This edition of the blog is about....well, the usual nonsense that I type out.

Well, I have heard that there is going to be some stuff coming into town in the next few months. Bob Dylan with Willie Nelson will be coming to town on their outdoor arena tour. I will probably try to make it to this for a couple of reason. A) To see the local wildlife who are blazed will show up. B) See who will be more blazed up Bob or Willie. Also, to listen to the music that they will be playing.

Then well, a couple miles out of town(about an hour's worth), Van Halen will be in Omaha, Nebraska. While I feel that both version of the band made money, the reason Sammy Hagar is better because David Lee Roth was a total and complete dick and jackass to the band member. Which meant he was burning his bridges very well, and would be replaced because you can piss on people so much before you get the boot.

Cher will be here, and I will not be there or else I would probably be plucking my eyes out and move them to see my ears bleeding. She had good music before and stuff, but my question is does she need anymore money? Infact with all of these groups, do they really need the money? I don't think so, but I will support the ones I will listen to, and sorry, but Cher isn't one of them.

Also, the only mentioning of work will be that the bar tender who left their bar in a group a while ago did the samething again. This time, they were caught atleast once. A) A server from that party came back asking who was the bartender because someone was out there at the bar. B) An upstairs bartender came down to check a keg for the actually bar upstairs. Afterwards I thought he went upstairs, but I was taking empty beer kegs to the back, and I seen him heading towards the back exit to get something out of his car. But he was heading from the party that had an unoccupied bar.

It should have tipped me off when he asked about the bar and if they had much business or not when me and another worker were taking a break. I only hope.

Read, point and laugh, and hope you never have this happen to you. I am going to give you a new meaning, of "Something always has to go wrong"

I swear if anything went right after our best buffet outing I would be surprised. Today at work, it was about 8:00 we needed to take some TV's and VCR's to a couple of our conference rooms. The bad thing is that we had only one working VCR, 1 completely working TV/VCR combo, and 1 regular TV that works.

Then hell broke lose. One of the workers was in too much of a hurry and tries to go over a rise in the floor. I was around the corner out of view of anything, and I suddenly heard something fall and break. I come around the corner and saw that our only completely working TV/VCR combo is now in pieces. Wooohoo.

I couldn't find anymore VCR's, and maintence brought a TV semi fixed TV, and the Assistant Manager went to go get a VCR at their house. Well, We get the TV from maintence upstairs, and find out that a different co-worker too up a TV that had a busted power switch. But he realized this before we took the other TV up. We took 2 TV's upstairs and then took the one off the AV cart that was busted.

Only problem was that the one that VCR that worked fell onto the ground. So the co-worker went looked at the VCR and just placed it back onto the AV cart not thinking about testing it. I placed the TV on the top  part of the AV cart and told him to go watch for the Assistant Manager as I looked for a video tape to test the VCR and get the TV set to the right channel.

What happens? The co-worker plays with the TV some more until he sees me in the hallway after I got a tape to test out the VCR with. I told him again to watch for the Assistant Manager and this time he did. I went and pulled in the VCR and TV, and find out the VCR is busted now. Yippie Skippy #2.

I went downstairs and told the co-worker to let the Assistant Manager know that we now have no working VCR's, and 2 working TV's and that I would be back to get a VCR from my house. Well, I get back and the Assistant Manager found "2" VCR's at their house, and have donated them to the department. So, I finally got fed up enough and clocked out, grabbed the VCR I went home to get, and left.

I swear things were going good until that happened.

Work wasn't too bad tonight, but I am getting the feeling that if I don't start doing something soon I will be stuck at the hotel for another year regretting every fucking day of it.

Saturday, July 10, 2004

Well, the Gateway plant in North Sioux is having a liquidation sell getting rid of a hell of a lot of remanufactured computers, and other stuff. Mainly if you are wondering why this is happening, well the second original location of Gateway was in North Sioux City, SD. And the original was out of the former old stockyards of Sioux City, IA.

The thing is that since the new management came in(namely the take over of E-way..err...Gateway buying out E Machines only to have all of their Corporate officers take over the spots, the North Sioux City production plant has been placed on the cutting block thus eliminating another chance for jobs meaning the market here is getting more and more dryer.

But I decided to get one of their reman's and the big surprise was that the sign that said everything is 15% off, I didn't think applied to the Computers but it did. The only complaint is that their laptop computers were supposively on liquidation sale, yet cost just as much as the new laptops. So I decided to just get a Tower, and well, screwed up while doing that.

I moved computer boxed computer from atop another, but the only problem was I left the area of that computer. Someone else went over and grabbed that one and compared another computer. They took the one I freed up, and I took the one they didn't take. But I wonder if I didn't move the computer on top of the other, would they have looked at it?

DOH! Yet getting this for the computer...

2.6 MHz P4,
160 GB HDD,
512 MB memory,
128 Video card,
Sound blaster sound card,
DVD burner/CD burner combo
DVD CD player combo

for just over $500.

And the management are idiots, but so are the customers tonight. And thank God I gave up the spot as the bar runner. And the reason I am up this late isn't because I just got home, but that I am watching Smackdown at the only time I can watch it. Saturday/Sunday @ midnight to Sunday 2AM

Wednesday, July 07, 2004

Well, I did go into work today and did stay unlike yesterday. But it wasn't too bad, I was away from the denser than bricks Assistant Manager. Also, all the porters were actually trying to work instead of trying to find ways to get out of doing work. That is always a plus in my book.

And as many of you have figured out, when you seen some of my past post on this blog...I am a fan of Slipknot. Infact, I am thinking about trying to make a personal mask, just to see if I can get the ideas in my head to form. Then after the months of work on it, (I tend to procrastinate better than anyone else,) I might take a picture of it with the digital camera.

And I really need to work on my cover letter...But I hate Cover Letters and resumes because they, to me, are the root of all evil! I hate them, hate hate hate hate hate....:)

And today at a certain forum board, there was a problem with someone thinking that what they were doing was for the right cause. The only problem is that it just showed their immaturiy, and it also shown why I categorize this certain poster, with another one whom they even consider an attention whore. If this person actually reads this, and they figure out that I am talking about them...I have only a couple of words for them. Grow the fuck up! that is all the time I am wasting on that.

Well, I think I wasted enough of your valuable time. I am gone for now, so have fun, drink some drinks, and remember...the last call is always your friend. Good Night Seattle[/Fraiser]. God I will miss that show

Tuesday, July 06, 2004

Well, I went into work and got my check, put it in the bank, and then went home. Waited for about another hour and got ready and went back into work. Arrive and find out that it is almost pointless to go in. I didn't even clock in, and I left after talking to the chef for a couple of minutes.

Tomorrow I am scheduled to work, but I will stay for work. I will need some hours so that come next pay period I have a check instead of a bill. :)

My web HTML website isn't too bad, but I still need to do some work with it, and figure out CSS a little more. Otherwise I think I am pretty much fine. I might talk a little more tonight, but for now I am getting out of my work clothes and looking for the recipe for the meal. And then maybe work on my Operating Systems 2 stuff.

Saturday, July 03, 2004

Take New York Strip Steak, 2/3's cup of olive oil, 1/3 cup of Wild Turkey bourbon, 1/4 cup of worchester(spelling?), sauce 6 minced cloves of garlic, Grounded pepper, and 4 hours to marinate the steak while flipping it about every half hour, and you will have the Bourbon marinated Steaks that I made on Friday. I even took a steak into work to have the head chef try it. He liked it, he hates New York Strip steaks, but he liked it and said to get him the recipe for Monday's highlight feature. I am not sure how serious he is, but I will try it.

And I still maybe up late with this post in my blog, but it isn't because of me having to be the bar runner at work. Thank god I gave it up, but it was worth it. I didn't have to stay at work til the parties were done to do the bill. Nor do I have to do the bar setup. Yeah!

Thursday, July 01, 2004

Well, for what I can tell I got only one reply, and I was expecting the answer. The reason I asked that is because we have no camera's in the ballrooms at the hotel, and there was a bar for a party of 120 people. During their little program the bartender left the bar completely unattended, boose, liqour, and cash. Add the fact that we use portable bars in the banquets department. This means the bar can move, and will move if simply pushed...blah blah blah blah.....

Okay now that I got that out of my system, I am not sure if I mentioned it in the past. This summer semester(right now), I am taking a webHTML class. It is an online class so I can work on it when I have time. Well, I now hit a pervivial brick wall knocking himself into designers block, because I don't know how to do scripting for having an image change every time the page is reloaded, yet. But I am not sure if the Teacher would except it though because this is class is not for the advance/dynamic html coding, just up to putting in frames, and I think cgi forms. If you want to check it out click here. And trust me it is the true definition of work in progress.

And that is all I can thinking of for typing tonight.
