I hate cover letters more than anything. It is amazing how hard it is to think of what to put down for a cover letter without breaking any of "the rules". They say don't sound too desparate to get the job, and yet they want you to try to say lines that to me sound more desparate than what I would want to put down. Then you have the fun of not putting down everything from your resume into your cover letter, and yet you have to try and sell the main points of it. Well, the problem with my resume is that the few main points really are the only points of interest on it. I have this feeling of trying to force myself to think when my brain just wants to shut down completely when I open up the file for my cover letter.

Maybe I should update this...

Well, work hasn't been to bad lately which is a surprise. I think the worst thing so far is me screwing up on Saturday night and not looking at the schedule and missing work on Sunday. But then again the bar on Saturday more than made up for missing the day. w00t!

Monday I didn't do much. I went to class and then headed over to work to check the schedule and found out that I missed work on Sunday. I then came home and did a lot of nothing.

Tuesday, I went to class and then go into work. When I arrived my cell phone was ringing and I thought it was a former co-worker who moved to Kansas, but instead it was the manager calling me to make sure I was coming to work. I clocked in and went to find out that the Manager wanted me and the other worker who was there to follow him upstairs to the Restaurant. The other worker and myself both applied for a banquet captain position that was open at work and we both got it. We talked to the manager and Food and Beverage director about what they wanted us to work on, and what we will be doing. We then got started on the work we were to be doing that day. We were done by about 7:30PM and left.

Today, we have the first BEO meeting to attend, and it wasn't too bad just discussed stuff and then left. I stayed to work my first day as Captain, and the other guy was able to go home and rest.

So yeah to becoming captain, but I am applying for a help desk technician at Western Iowa Tech. So if I get the spot, I will be the shortest lasting Banquet Captain at work. interesting to say the least.

Computer Screen is too bright

I just for some reason sleep right now, and I haven't updated this in a couple weeks. The past few days have not been the greatest, but the worst of it if you want to call it that is Sunday, A) I cornered by the manager and wasn't too comfortable about the situation as it concerned some stuff that has been happening lately at work. and B) I had to work late because of a Jewish wedding that went til a quarter to 1 and I didn't get out til a quarter to 2.

The lack of sleep and for the most part confusion of what day it was caused me to cuss at myself because I realized at about 5 PM I missed my class that was in the morning.

The worst thing about it is that I have to be at my class in about 7 hours and can't get to sleep. But I should try to get some sleep one way or another. nice.
