Top Albums of the year(not exactly all 2004 albums...)

Well, I haven't done much for Christmas I got the usualy clothes, gift certificates and such. And still plugging away at learning the bass guitar. Atleast it is in tune to a degree(not sure about the G string), but found a bass tab site looked around for anything tuned for EADG tuning, and found out that Black Magic Women infact is. And so far I can play it, but still need to get use to working the neck/fretboard. And now my top albums I purchased this year....(this doesn't mean that they came out this yeer.) :)

1) Green Day - American Idiot

Green Day has some good writing as usual, but everything came together on this one.

2) Killswitch Engage - End of the Heartache

Great album, great lead singer and other goodness.

3) Damageplan - New Found Power

This was a well put together album by "Dimebag" Darrel. Sometimes letting someone who never been a lead singer, but a back up, take the mic can be bad, and other times great. Damageplan found a leader with their lead singer, Darrell as usual played his heart out.

4) To My Surprise - To My Surprise

It came out in 2003, I just bought it this year. And it is an awesome recap of many decades of pop music with blended with today's styled lyrics and being only a 3 person band, they go all out on this album. Hopefully, after Knot is done touring they might do some recording again.

5) Joe Satriani - Is there love in Space?

Great guitar player, and the songs he sings in aren't too bad. Too bad I can't hear this over the radio here because the radio stations only play A) What's on MTV B) What's popular C) What is main stream

6) Slipknot - Vol. 3 The Subliminal Verses

A Well put together album that showed maturity, and with a more complete sound. As MTV said in one of their articles "More Structured, still programmed to kill". Rick Rubin did a great job with getting them motivated. And they are actually getting air play here....if you want more reason why it took them so long to get air play look at the end of #5

7) Nirvana - With the Lights Out

I grew up on Nirvana, and they are one of my favorite bands. Just a collection of everything they did over the years before Kurt passed away.

8) Eminem - Encore

A little more serious at times, but still a good album. And with more targets than ever before to go after. Now how many law suits he gets will only be known by him. The best song off of this to me is Mockingbird. For the Most part just pours his heart and soul into a song that is somewhat of an apology to his daughter.

9) Linkin Park and Jay Z - Collision Course

A nice blend of rap and rock. People may go after Jay Z saying that since he has retired he has done even more recording and stuff, well when he had a decent album with R Kelly before, and R Kelly probably came to him about making one more, and then others wanting to try out something with him, and many people remixing probably one of his best albums (Black Album) with others's stuff including the White Album from the Beattles, it shows that he has talent, just needed to get motivated. And while he is motivated why not jump on the bandwagon. *shrug*

10) Satana stuff - I both some used Santana CD's so I will throw them here. they would probably go hire, but I am lazy and didn't really listen to all of them completely. But that is my fault and Santana is still a great guitar player

and I will cheat here...

11) Dave Matthews - Some Devil and Broken Stuff(Dave Matthews Band)

It is amazing how some of my co-workers warmed up to him after DMB's accident in Chicago....as some have said "Dave Matthews is probably sad because his shit got more attention that his bands last album"

Wow.....(mindless rant here)

Well, the bass came in, and infact it is me with the bass in my new profile picture. Good luck with getting an actual picture of me completely facing the camera. :)

Work was....work. I got into an argument with a bartender, and I swear they talked a manager into switching the bars because the party I was originally scheduled for was a 2 hour bar. And the one that the manager was talked into getting me was til 11 PM. Plus the that the one doing the talking had the bar last year and it was boring to them didn't help my case either.

But the argument came from that same bartender telling another bartender that they have to pull liqour from upstairs. I told that bartender to ignore the other one and to get what they needed for their bar. The dumbass continued. So I went after them about how I got enough to get the bars started off and if anyone needed more alcohol, they could find a manager. The stupid bitch then came into the room I was bartending in I swear to fucking god they were gloating that I had this bar and they had a better one.

The banquet captain didn't have much fun either and he wrote a note to the Food and Beverage director about needing to talk to them. I told him to add my name to it. I swear to the almighty one, that I will get that fucking bartender fired before the new year. I am getting tired of them.

Personally, almost everyone at that place can kiss my ass.

Good tips, but they will only do so much....

Friday: Worked helped out a bartender and then stayed until about 2 AM not much other than setup for the big party on Saturday. Also, on ebay won a starter bass guitar kit for after shipping and everything would end up about $40's cheaper than buying it at the local music shop atleast. Now just need to wait til Thurday or Friday when it will arrive. Sweet!

Saturday: I came in and knew I was going to be bartending, and I knew that somehow I didn't want to be with the new person this week. Also, if I could find a way out of the big party I would take it. And I did, I worked a small 30 person party, and ended up getting at the end of the night $50 in tips, and not sure how much in gratutity off the host bar part. But I still ended up involved in the big party. here is a log of sorts of my involvement...

12:15 AM: Got downstairs to give money, reciept, and inventory sheet to manager, and talked to the others who were sitting around a table in the back area.

12:25: still BSing with workers

12:30: Decided to start putting my shit away, started with the beer and chillables(chillable wines and juices and such) since the beer cooler was closest.

12:50: noticed time and only one bar was cleared out with their bartenders putting stuff away. while working on covering wine with plastic wrap to keep it from going bad.

12:55: Getting worried about the other bar that was out there.

12:58: had another bartender watch stuff from my bar and went out to the party to check on the other bartenders

12:59: grabbed bottles of liqour off the bar and took them to the back area.*

1:00 AM: went back for more, poured a drink just to get a guest go away from the bar. grabbed more liqour bottles, opened register took the money and mentioned to the bartender to just get the reciept roll as I went to the back area.

1:15: got inventory sheet and started marking down the stuff I took away from their bar, and talked to the bartender and we came to an agreement that we barely got the liqour out of there before we would be in trouble for selling liquor after the closing time of liqour sales.

1:30: got everything put away from liqour to beer to wine

1:38: clocked out as a bartender and clocked in as a porter

1:45 AM to 4:30 AM: did whatever possible to get some stuff done and get out of the place.

Sunday: woke up at 10:45, took shower, got to work by Noon. Came home from work slepted for a while. woke up at about 6 and ate some beef stew watched some football, went back to sleep.

Today: Worked at 4 PM. Came home watched some RAW, and now watching Anna Nicole Smith on Jimmy Kimmel and well.....She is drugged out of her mind....so it is just the usual concerning her.

* big effing astrick says that Nebraska's liqour laws say any sales after 1 AM could result that place losing the liqour liscence. Also, you can wait til 1:15 AM to take liqour away from people.

somethings just don't make sense....

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/nation/2939423

There was a shooting at a Columbus, Ohio concert. Damageplan just started, and someone got on stage and shot "Dimebag" Darrell and others. The gun man was killed also, but who knows if this was a disgruntled Pantera fan or who knows what. Damageplan has for the most part completely took off the content on their website to only show a picture of Darrell.

RIP Darrell, and keep on rocking where ever you are now.

don't know what to say

I have been wore out the past few days, but I think I am getting sick maybe. I swear after a big weekend, but mid week I usually am back to not looking like I am lost.

And that co-worker did quit, they have another job, and hopefully that works out for them. The former assistant manager is working at a local casino in their banquets department. He calls it "the same job only without the stress and with people willing to do whatever has to be done to get the job done." Which is cool for him.

Now I will probably go to sleep check ebay tomorrow, and maybe get something that will keep me from the computer as much as I am on it anymore...

Why am I still tired?

Well, I will give a semi quick weekend update...

Thurs- Didn't work didn't do much

Friday - I went to work at 5 PM and had to bartender. When I get there I find out that they decided to put a new bartender with me to train...So...umm...yeah...thanks. Not to mention that they had absolutely no clue where to put everyone because well, their original plans were scrapped for some reason. But I got home at just about 2 AM. While some others went partying....they came in Saturday...well except for one....they were called at about 5 PM saturday, and have been drinking for 16 hours straight and said they quit...fun times.

Saturday - Bartending again, and again I am put with a new bartender. The worst part about this day is that the bartender I had to work with thought that a barback would set the bar up for them. ARGH! Not to mention I had another bar that I took because it was only going for an hour, and then I would go to the one with the new bartender. Let's see here, another party that was at our other building had a bar that was around $1,800 in sales, and well the cash registers in that building have about 10,000 different buttons to press for drinks. So it sounds like they just pressed one button the whole time (don't blame them.) So I helped with that bill by figuring out how much beers and wine was sold, and then after that gave the manager the numbers to put into the bill. Amazing, how you learn to unfuck a bar bill after doing them for about 6 months straight a while ago. Only bad thing is that I left at 4 AM.

Sunday - When you wake up and it is 45 minutes til you have to be in, you know it is going to be a bad day. Worst thing is that Sunday was my birthday, so a good thing was double pay. And I gave myself a present by going home after work to try and catch up on some sleep. There's always a silver lining to that cloud that is pouring rain. :)

Monday - Went into work still tired as fuck with no clue as to why. Got out at 11 PM. And for some reason decided that I don't need sleep, and went to bed at 2 AM....Yes another name for me is stupid.

This morning I woke up, looked out the window to see it still dark. And looked up at my clock, it was 6 AM, about 10 minutes later the dog starts barking...in otherwords saying "Someone let me back in the fucking house you idiots." And amazingly, I was the only one who heard the dog barking. What fun....I think I will look for a good corner to curl up and fall asleep in...
