weekend report w/ wrestling results and rant...

This weekend, had some slow as hell work days which weren't too bad and went to PCW wrestling. But first off, Johnny Carson died over the weekend. He was a one of a kind host who did what some people which they could do. 5 nights a week for most of the year would be able to talk to celebrities and other assorted guest. He did it the only way he knew how, and when he ritired, the late night shows quality dropped. I think that some where there is someone who could do his job the same exact way, but when will it happen? Who knows...Johnny RIP with the rest of the stars who you interviewed and passed before you.

And now:

Friday, we had Mary Kay come in for their annual winter party, and as usual for anything that has happened at work...my thoughts were how the mighty have fallen. Last year and the year before they had around 150 to 200 people at their Winter Event. This year, they had about 84 people on Friday for their dinner. And it went so late that we nearly had almost everything finished off and were waiting on them to be done so that we could set for the Saturday. During this period, workers were cleaning up the back area by all the porters supplies. I went and tried to reogranize the dish area. It wasn't pretty but it got done. After everything was said and done we left at about 11 PM I believe.

Saturday, Mary Kay had their lunch which is separated into 2 groups. The ones who did the best sales, and the ones who didn't. And because of their numbers, the two separate lunches were around 30 people each. This meant the porter's scheduled on Saturday get the opportunity to walk across the parking lot across the street in the cold to the Exhibit Hall (aka blue building).
Here we rearrange the area where the tables for that building go, and then started rearranging the area for the chairs when a worker comes in and needs help. There is a pit that is 6 inches deep. They were pushing a stage cart with stage pieces in there. the one of the old boards above the pit gave way. We got the stage cart out of the hold from the broken board, and the Manager said, "We're done in this room".

So at 11:45 we went back to messing around with the room with the chairs. He said to head back over at 1 PM no matter how much we get done. Well, we got done at 12:30 PM, and decided to head back across the street. Still cold and windy. We get back across the street and start cleaning out a room that adjorned, and then took some rounds in there for the meeting they were planning that is scheduled tomorrow I believe. We then set up every room that was adjorning til we had two rooms to go. The first room we were waiting on was one of big ball rooms. Mary Kay was finishing up their meeting and getting ready to adjorn.

We then got started on that at about 4:30 PM. for the most part, we stacked up chairs, and tore down stage and took it across the street. But this time we had a truck! YEAH! Only problem is that the maintence worker took their time getting there. So the assistant manager and the other porter started to takes balloons filled with helium, and inhale the helium. The Banquet Captain and I told them that they would be getting high off of helium and feeling the affects. They didn't believe us...

We get across the street and the banquet captain has to unlock and disarm the alarm for the building. He then goes to the room they weren't planning on using in the building and opens the garage door on that side and the truck gets backed in. We move the stage pieces and lean them against the wall. After that we went back across the steet, and did some more waiting around for the last room to break. The assistant manager started to get a headache and we made fun of her for it. The last room that the captain and us porters had to wait for finally adjorned. We just took the dirty dishes, and food and beverages out and called that room done for now. This was about 6:30 that we finally got out, and the wrestling show was at 7PM. I went home changed clothes and such and then left to go to the show and made it there by 7 PM, but as mentioned at another site, this is Indy wrestling meaning it was going to start a little late. And here's how the show went down.....

PCW wrestling, Jan 22nd, results from here

The show began with “Wiseguy” Wyatt Connors coming to the ring. He announced that Commissioner Alan Richards had a major announcement to make. Richards said that at the next show Feb. 12, NWA-TNA, CZW superstar “The Original Playa From The Himalaya” Sonjay Dutt would be coming to PCW and will receive a PCW Heavyweight title shot against the winner of the Dolan/Moore title match. This caused “The Family” to come to the ring. Mr. Baltezar had a few choice words the Commish for this decision. He then turned his attention to Ricky Sprague and challenged him to face Mr. White in a match. Ricky came out and suggested the match be a 6-man tag match and introduced Casanova and the Chippendale Kid has his partners.

The Family (“The Passion” Zac James, Strife, and Mr. White) vs. Casanova, The Chippendale Kid, and “The Tsunami Kid” Ricky Sprague

Sprague and the Passion started off with a series of headlocks. Sprague’s team had an interesting sequence where Casanova gave CnD a monkey flip out of the corner and CnD landed onto Strife. Casanova then gave a monkey Flip to Sprague also landing onto Strife. Another exciting sequence happened when Zac tried to suplex Ricky, everyone ended up in the mix ending with Spragues team hitting a triple suplex on all 3 members of the family at once. Action could not be contained in the ring and eventually spilled out to the floor. Strife took this opportunity to go airborne and hit a corkscrew onto everyone. Strife was able to hit the Zeal Buster on Casanova, but CnD caught Strife in the Chaos Theory. Ricky then went up top and hit not one, but two Frog Splashes on Strife for the 3 count.

Skeeter vs. Dimitri Kohloff

Neither wrestler got much of an advantage early on. Hillbilly Buck wanted Kohloff’s attention and he got Kohloff to follow him to the outside. Kohloff chased Buck around the ring only to be caught by a flying cross-body by Skeeter. Skeeter went to the top rope again, but this time Kohloff caught him and slammed him off the top rope. Kohloff then gave Skeeter a vicious lariat which sent Skeeter landing right on his head. Kohloff covered Skeeter for the easy 3. Buck tried to attack Koloff after the match, but suffered the same fate as Skeeter.

Jayden Draigo vs. Babyface for the PCW TV title

Babyface got Draigo in an arm wringer, but Draigo quickly turned things around and sent Babyface to take a breather on the outside. Jayden did not let up as he slammed Babyface into several fans feet at ringside. Babyface got the advantage back as he had Draigo in a Torture Rack then dropped him to the mat. Draigo hit a modified version of the Acid Drop, but only got a 2 count. Draigo went for a superkick, but Babyface pulled Mason in to take the blow. Hype Gotti then came from the back and grabbed a steel chair. He acted like he was going to hit Babyface, but hit Draigo instead. Hype then pulled Babyface over Draigo and Mason counted to 3. Babyface is the new TV champ. Hype then got on the mike and said Babyface and himself have settled their differences and have chosen to be Simply The Best once again. JT Wilcox came from the back to try and save Draigo, but it was for naught as he got beat down by Hype & Babyface while they continued to taunt the fans in the temple.

Pain Syndicate vs. Double Jeopardy for the PCW Tag Team titles

Cruz and Max started for their teams. Max overpowered Cruz, but Cruz fought back with a flurry of punches. Max then tagged in Abu and the two dominated Cruz. Cruz was beating on Max in the corner when Abu tried a splash, but Cruz moved out of the way and Abu hit Max instead. Daniels got the hot tag only to end up on the receiving end of a long beatdown. Deidre then got on the apron and Cruz got a hold of her. She then slapped Cruz and pushed him into Max. Max lifted up Cruz for Abu to hit him with a leg clothesline for the 3 count.

Hype Gotti vs. JT Wilcox

Connors didn’t even announce JT as he came running from the back and started hitting Hype. They went to the outside where Hype hit JT with a trash can and to return the favor, JT sent Hype over the guardrail into some female fans at ringside. JT had Hype in a fireman’s carry, but Hype got out of it and hit a Yakuza Kick on JT for a 2 count. Hype was getting pissed, so he went a grabbed a chair. Draigo came from the back and stopped Hype from using the chair. He then grabbed the chair and hit Hype over the head with it. Babyface came from the back, but was met with a Smoke Detector onto the chair. Mason had no choice but to rule the match a no contest. Draigo got on the mike and said if Simply The Best wanted another shot at the J-Crew, they were more than willing to oblige. At the next show Draigo issued a challenge for a No-DQ, tornado tag, street fight.

Christian Moore vs. Big Daddy Dolan for the PCW Heavyweight title

Dolan wanted Moore to shake his hand. Moore refused, so Dolan told Moore to either shake his hand or he would take his shirt off. Moore went to shake his hand, but Dolan psyched out Moore and took his shirt off anyway. Moore wanted a test of strength and when he got it, Dolan put Moore immediately on his knees. Moore then caught Dolan with a couple of dropkicks which sent Dolan to the corner and Moore followed up with a splash. Dolan then splashed Moore in the corner and Moore went down in a heap. Dolan again tried his “one finger, one count” routine, but it did not work, what a surprise. Moore got Dolan in a sleeper hold, but Dolan got out of it by attempting a Dolan Driver, which made Moore release the hold. Dolan tried to go for the Dolan Driver again, but Mr. Baltezar was distracting Mason at ringside so Dolan tried to take care of the problem. Baltezar then threw something to Moore, which he used to punch Dolan, and bust him open. It was enough to put Dolan down for the 3 count.

That is the results from the PCWc Informer. Now my favorite matches of this show were the opening 6 man tag match, and Babyface vs. Jayden Draigo. The opening match had some comedy spots, good technical wrestling, and because a group of fans at PCWc's shows, known as the Disgruntled Fans(DisFans), are friends of Strife and "The Passion" Zac James, they cheared them(even though Balthazar's Family is a group of heels.) And every time Mr. White was tagged in they went right to booing. The best part of the match was when Zac went to suplex Ricky, and then it ended up bring both team trying for the suplex, and Sprague's team getting it. It was neat.

Now, this rant concerns the Main Event, which wasn't bad but points in my mind were deducted because...KAYFABE!

Yes, I am not a wrestler, I used to help out PCWc, So allow the mocking Ric Flair jokes can end right now.

The close to the end of the match, Dolan fought his was to his corner where his hat and robe were. He didn't try to hide the fact that he was trying to get something out of his hat. The Disgruntled Fans and me noticed this. He missed what he was grabbing for the first time and second time, and got it the third time around. Dolan then goes for his Dolan Driver, but Moore breaks loose. Belthazar throws the nucks to more which is expect sence he is Moore's manager. Then jumps onto the ring apron, and distracts the ref. Dolan is facing away from Moore, and CLEARLY BLADES HIMSELF IN THE MATCH, takes the shot to the head, and lands flat on his back!

He didn't try to hide the fact that he was going to get "busted open". Mainly, I understand somethings like the throwing the object just as the ref is being distract do he can't see it. Because that happens on WWE, TNA, and others. BuT not hiding the fact that you are blading yourself, I don't get it.

Other than that it was a good show they busted their asses to give the people an exciting night of wrestling. I just wished that Big Daddy Dolan wouldn't have been lazy and gave that away is all.

End rant.
